Nstp class is a civic welfare training services program is primary an outreach activity of Ateneo de Cagayan- Xavier University after we had fulfilled our nstp. I personally changed in my action and words that reality is happening in our environment which is Poverty here in Philippines.
For me, it super feels good fulfilling my NSTP-CWTS2. It took me and my group a lot ofeffort and patience just to keep the show running for our assigned tasks for this subject. We sacrificed our weekends, budget especially for the transportation, and a lot more just to prepare and tackle down every meeting in our NSTP-CWTS2 and it is worth it.
One of the events that struck me the most was the 1st meeting in our assigned place which was the Xavier Ecoville because it was my first time dealing this kind of situation, honestly. This was the very moment that made me realize that there are a lot of things worth more than the problems we get to carry around us. I don't know, but this helped me work out with my being as an Atenean, a Filipino, and a human being. Another event that struck me the most was last week. An event that we would not ever forget. It's something emotional because we had to say goodbye to them but I'm glad that me and my blockmates made them happy in a lot of ways.
It has been a great accomplishment for me to be a part of NSTP-CWTS2. I learned lots of things in this
Class because it opened my mind to the things that is happening to my surroundings. I feel very happy and glad because this class didn't only helped me to become aware to my surroundings, but also, it helped me become a better person as well who can also share what happy and sad experiences I had in this class.
In NSTP-CW2 class, I found the core values while we are working. I learned different things such as being patient, and open minded when it comes to the kids who needs improvement at behavior. Moreover, I learned how to be more organize because of the things we always settle before going to the place so that our time will not be wasted when we get there.
As a student teacher and an Atenean student, I learned that I can combine my skills in teaching and in helping my friends who has difficulty, whether be it on academics, life, etc.
I'm not a rich person that is why I value the word poverty. This helps me a lot to be more enthusiastic when it comes to my studies. Why? It is because I may encounter this if I didn't study well. Basically, poverty leads to many problems, that is why for me, to prevent myself to encounter such, I do what I’m suppose to do, and that is to pray, help, and work
My exposure to the people in Ecoville made me realize how important it is to give regard especially to the needy children. The endowments that I have are signals for me to better appreciate what little I have and still impart these to those in need, without expectation of any returns. The value of giving and sharing became more vivid and understandable to me to make me better apply this in my life.
God telling me, that I am so blessed with what I have and don’t have. That what little I have can still be shared and better appreciated. With great power comes great responsibility is the overriding message of God to me with this exercise. ENRICHING as the experience gave me more meaning in my relationship with God and my less privileged brothers and sister. FULFILLING as we successfully achieved our set goals and objectives with the children given assistance, aside from gaining much values and insights on the plight of these children. FUN because children are fun to be with and in their innocence, the level of satisfaction becomes higher and more appreciated.
"Reach out". This is what I think God is also telling me. Help the people who are in need. I believe that even in simple ways, I can help them because even though it is not that big, I can lessen their problems. As a conclusion, there are three words that I can say in NSTP-CWTS - The Best Class .Thanks to our teacher Ma’am Faith Silmonet J
Three words I can describe based from my experiences: LOVE, PATIENCE, RESPECT
